Let’s thank Rep. Joe Neguse for aiming to clear the way for Colorado and other states to choose simple, guaranteed quality health care for all!
Already a Vice President of the House Medicare for All Caucus and an original sponsor of Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s (improved) Medicare for All Act of 2019, Rep. Neguse signed on Nov. 20 as the 17th cosponsor of Rep. Khanna’s State-Based Universal Health Care Act of 2019, H.R. 5010.
On Nov. 8, U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna introduced the Act to empower states that choose to enact universal health care.
We asked you to urge your federal reps to cosponsor the bill. Well you did, and Rep. Neguse acted!
The Act will encourage states to be the engines of health care innovation. It will allow states that want to create universal health care to obtain the needed waivers to integrate federal Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and CHIP dollars into a state-level or multi-state universal health care system.
If your federal Representative hasn’t signed on, call him or her today! Urge them to cosponsor the State Based Universal health Care Act.
We’re teaming up with activists across the country to support this cornerstone legislation. Whether you’re for states’ rights, for universal health care, or both, this bill matters.
Here is a link to a two-page summary of the bill, for you and your representative to review. Thanks for doing your part!
