Let's stand together and do better
We stand in solidarity with the people of Minnesota and all people whose lives, liberty, civil rights and human rights are under siege due to the state-sanctioned executions and violence we have all witnessed by the current regime. We stand in solidarity with all immigrants and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color who have experienced relentless brutality at the hands of this nation over the course of history.
This brutality has been consistent and pervasive in our health care system as well.
It’s no mistake that we are growing the ranks of multi-millionaires and billionaires at the same time that current and aspiring American citizens are being demonized. Fear and hatred are the tools of consolidating wealth and power.
How we pay for health care is one of those tools for consolidating wealth and power. The profit motive uses our need for health care to concentrate wealth into the hands of a few to the harm of the rest of us. It is how we have come to spend twice as much per person in the US on health care, while dying younger and poorer.
We will continue to stand with all people and this planet until all our systems respect and support all life. This is a cooperative challenge, not a competition. Harming certain groups of people divides us in an attempt to conquer us all.
We encourage you to stand in solidarity with Minnesotans by considering donating to and being active with any of the immigrant rights organizations listed on StandWithMinnesota.com and with Colorado’s own immigrant rights coalition ColoradoRapidResponseNetwork.com (CRRN).
CO4UHC is the Colorado chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program. We stand aligned with them for community health, safety, and well-being for all.
