KATE JOHNSTON, LCSW
Kate Johnston completed both her B.S. in Psychology (2009) and Master’s in Social Work (2013) at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Kate completed her supervision requirements and obtained Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) designation in 2016. She has worked in a variety of mental health practice fields over the last 14 years, including inpatient and crisis stabilization units, integrated behavioral health care, and, currently, in private practice in Colorado Springs. Kate moved to Colorado in 2017. She has an extensive history working in community mental health and has primarily worked with marginalized and oppressed populations throughout her career. As a queer-idntifying individual, she is passionate about helping her community by orienting her practice towards working with other queer-idenitfying individuals, volunteering, and serving on a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion panel for a local yoga teacher training program. Kate’s experiences as a clinician and queer-idenitfying person in America has bolstered her conviction and core values for social justice and health equity for all, which she views as one and the same.
